Creative Challenge in 3D Printing

The Creative Challenge is 3D Printing is a project I worked on while employed by RPGA Studio Inc. This program ran for 5 years and I was responsible for many aspects of its implementation. At the start of each CC3DP season we would write a design brief for our participating teams, one year they designed a mini mini golf course, another year their own board game, and in the last year of the program students created silicone molds from the objects they designed and printed using 3D printers. I was responsible for conceptualizing these briefs, writing teaching manuals for the team’s coaches, and for training coaches on how to effectively teach students CAD and 3D printing. I also wrote a 90 page workbook on 3D printing and CAD for elementary schools with Yvonne Shortt that was part of the CC3DP curriculum. We offered 3D design and printing residencies through this program. We would go into public elementary schools and after school programs in NYC for 8 weeks and directly teach students 3D design. I taught at several of these residencies while working at RPGA.
